In-Game Structure

How We Operate

SOCOMD represents multiple military units working together to achieve common goals. We operate as a fictionalised arm of Australian Army Special Operations Community represented as the 3rd Commando Regiment (3CDO). This allows us to operate in a wide variety of scenarios and operation types.

In operations we utilise combined arms Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to achieve objectives and complete missions. These TTPs have been refined over years of practice and are always being iterated upon as we add in new gameplay elements and different unit compositions to enhance our overall in game experience.

Ground Element

Alpha Company

Alpha Company (A Coy.) is an organised group of the most active members in SOCOMD. A Coy. members are organised into 2 Platoons of 3 Sections. New members will be assigned to a Section within A Coy. upon completion of their interview.

Ready Reserve

The Ready Reserve are a loosely organised group of less active, veteran members of SOCOMD. They have earned the title of reserve by being long standing members of the community, and join A Coy. Sections on operations when time permits. They are expected to perform at the same level, if not better, than the standard A Coy. Section member.

Air Element

Aviation Squadron

The Aviation Squadron is the main effort of Special Operations Aviation (SOA). Primarily rotary wing pilots, they conduct Close Air Support (CAS), transport, logistics support and reconaissance. These operations are carried out in a variety of aircraft, such as the AH-6 and MH-6 Little Bird, S-70A-9 Black Hawk, CH-47D Chinook and AH-64 Apache.

Support Squadron

The Support Squadron is a ground based logistical team that help resupply, reinforce and support both ground and aviation effort in operations. They set up Forward Arming and Refuelling Points (FARPs), provided ground based resupply to the Commando force and can also be called in for emergency medical support.

Combat Control Team

The Combat Control Team (CCT) are an attachment of ground troops that help coordinate, direct and control the air space during operations. They primarily act as Joint Terminal Attack Controllers but can also call in CASEVACs, OPDEMs and other air based support if required.
